ABOUT KAZUKO RYU KARATE ASSOCIATION

The Kazuko Ryu Karate Association is a respected, independent martial arts organization based in Salford, Greater Manchester. We are honored to be affiliated with the Independent Martial Arts Sports Association (IMASA).

Our core objective is to offer high-quality, accessible, and affordable karate instruction to individuals across the community. With a distinctive blend of traditional and contemporary karate practices, Kazuko Ryu Karate has earned a reputation as one of the leading and most esteemed karate organizations in Greater Manchester. As one of the few not-for-profit karate associations in the country, we operate with a unique ethos, placing the development and well-being of our members above financial interests.

Our senior instructors collectively possess over 40 years of experience in karate. Throughout this time, they have achieved numerous championship titles and have had the privilege of coaching a significant number of national, international, and world medallists. In addition to their competitive achievements, they have contributed to the development of many skilled and disciplined karateka over the years.

Supporting our senior instructors is a dedicated team of instructors and assistant instructors, all committed to ensuring the highest standard of training. Within our association, we are proud to have a number of competitive karateka who are local, national, international, and world champions and medallists. These accomplished athletes are readily available to provide you with an unparalleled karate training experience.

Kazuko Ryu Karate is open to individuals aged 5 and above, welcoming practitioners of all experience levels, from complete beginners to advanced black belts. Our instructional approach is inclusive, ensuring that no individual is left behind. The curriculum integrates traditional, modern, and sport karate techniques, enabling our instructors to maximize each student’s potential while maintaining active engagement throughout the training process.

As a not-for-profit and politically neutral association, we place the interests and development of our members at the forefront of everything we do.

At Kazuko Ryu Karate, we pride ourselves on maintaining transparency and accessibility; consequently, we do not charge any joining fees nor require membership contracts, which is often the case with many other karate associations. Our primary objective is to keep the practice of karate as affordable and inclusive as possible for all.

 

We follow the Japanese style of karate known as Shito-Ryu, a discipline originating in Osaka in the 1930s, and frequently practiced in Okinawa, Japan. Today, Shito-Ryu stands as one of the most widely practiced and esteemed karate styles globally.
